Upon receiving a tip-off that a suspicious person was on-board a flight from Muscat to Lahore, Airport Security Force (ASF) personnel boarded the plane and arrested the suspect, identified as 40-year-old Saadullah.

The suspect, who hailed from Lahore, was taken to an undisclosed location for interrogation.

Over 300 passengers that were also on the flight were safely evacuated from the plane.

Flight operations at the airport continued as scheduled.

Airports throughout the country were put on high-alert after a brazen attack on Karachi airport took place on June 8. Thirty seven people, including 10 militants and 12 ASF personnel, were killed after an all-night battle at the airport’s old terminal. This was the first large-scale terrorist attack on the country’s largest airport in years.
