ISLAMABAD: The head of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan has barred Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak from attending the National Security Conference, citing the illegal steps taken by government against the workers of Pakistan Awami Tehreek and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

HunzaNews, August 9th, 2014.

“All these acts carried out by PML-N are against democratic norms, they are behaving like monarchs,” Imran told Express News.

“We have asked K-P chief minister to not participate in the security conference, scheduled for Saturday, as the government has already started taking illegal and unconstitutional steps against peaceful protesters, which shows the dictatorial mindset of the rulers,” said Imran.

He was of the opinion that the government has resorted to a massive crackdown across Punjab against the workers of PAT and PTI. “Government has no right to react in such a violent way against peaceful protests. It has blocked all the roads and confiscated motorcycles of hundreds of common citizens, which is against the law,’ the PTI chief maintained.

Imran said: “PTI is protesting peacefully, it has not broken any law and it’s their lawful right to protest against the injustices done by the government.”

“Even in Musharraf’s tenure such gruesome acts weren’t carried out,” said Imran, warning that the PTI workers will not bow down against the government and will stand firm no matter what.

The PTI chief asked that he should be told that under which law the government has confiscated the motorcycles of hundreds of people and why has the capital been barricaded.
