With this move the trade between Pakistan and China via land route (Khunjerav Pass) has practically closed for definite time.

The office-bearers of Gilgit-Baltistan Chamber of Commerce  and Industries including Johar Ali Raki, Muhammad Ismail, Javed Hussain and other announced it through a press conference held in Gilgit on Wednesday.

The president of the Chamber Johar Ali said the Pak China Sost Dry Port would remain for any kind of trade handling till their demands are met by the concerned authorities.
According to him the closure of border on Saturday and Sunday as decided by the Ministry of Finance has caused huge losses to the traders and exporters/importers.

They demanded immediate closure of the Tax Collectorate office in Gilgit-Baltistan. They further demanded the removal of taxation system in Gilgit-Baltistan, the constitutionally disputed area. The collection of income and sales tax are illegal in GB by the taxation department, they said.

According to them despite the taxes at Sost border, the collectorates in Mansehra, Peshawar and other parts of country were charging additional charges to the importers of Gilgit-Baltistan.
