HunzaNews April 17th, 2014.

Naltar is considered to be the home of skiing as most national-level skiers including Mohammad Karim, who went to the Sochi Olympics earlier this year, hail from the area.

According to the MoU, the CAA will also grant Rs500,000 every year to SFP. The MOU was signed by CAA representative Obaidur Rehman Abbasi and the SFP secretary-general in Islamabad on Wednesday.

In turn, the Federation will train and coach five nominated skiers and prepare them to take part in international and national skiing competitions.

Later, the CAA ski coordinator said that the CAA chief has shown interest, not only promoting winter sports, but also in initiating steps to raise living standards for the poor and neglected in the area. He added that the skiers would also be given a scholastic education by SFP free of cost.
