GILGIT HunzaNews 24-Feb-2016- Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly yesterday passed a unanimous resolution against child labour in Gilgit-Batistan. The resolution was tabled by opposition lawmaker Bibi Salima. “It is international law to protect child rights but it needs implementation in G-B,” said Bibi Salima. She said without proper assistant to poor children the menace could not be eliminated from the region.
Speaker Fida Muhammad Nashad approved the resolution and forwarded to the provincial government for consideration.
Chief Minister Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman told the house that construction work on the Gilgit-Skardu road would soon be started as a revised PC-1 will be approved before March in this connection. He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is taking personal interest in this project. Earlier, members of opposition walked from the assembly on the issue of Gilgit-Sakardu road. Later on, they were brought back by ruling lawmaker Jafarullah and Ghulam Hassan.
