Promoting skiing: CAA gives Rs1m to SFP

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has given Rs1 million to the Ski Federation of Pakistan (SFP)  for promoting ski among locals at the Naltar ski resort in Gilgit-Baltistan, said a press release.

CAA ski affairs coordinator Obaidur Rehman Abbasi presented the cheque to SFP president Air Marshal Athar Hussain Bukhari at Air Headquarters.

The amount was part of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) inked by the CAA and SFP.

According to the MoU, the CAA will pay Rs500,000 to the SFP each year for ski training and to bear educational expenses of five children from Naltar.

Under the sponsorship programme, five athletes from Naltar would be provided ski training and free education.

The Ski Federation of Pakistan president said that with the support of the CAA, the SFP will continue efforts to promote skiing in the country.
