Educure III Receives Best YMCA Winner Award

Aga Khan Rural Support Program (AKRSP) organized Enhancing Employability & Leadership for Youth (EELY) Forum 2014 in the Hunza valley on 3rd and 4th September, 2014. The forum invited Youth Micro Challenge Award (YMCA) winners, Youth Internship Program (YIP) graduates and other successful beneficiaries of EELY project. The audience also included people from different projects of AKRSP – EELY program, various LSOs from across Gilgit-Baltistan & Chitral and many others who have benefited from the EELY project.

The participants shared their experience, challenges they faced and how they are working to sustain their projects. Imran Ahmed Hunzai – the organization’s co-founder, former Vice President and current member of Monitoring & Advisory (M&A) Council participated in the forum on behalf of Organization for Educational Change (OEC). During his presentation, he threw light on various projects of OEC with focus on Educure III.Educure III was sponsored by AKRSP under YCMA project. Imran Hunzai also explained the making of Educure and showed his expectations for future support from AKRSP not only for Educure but other related project of OEC too. The presentation was followed by a Question-Answer session. Mr. Ejaz Karim, AKRSP’s Youth Specialist showed his satisfaction on the output of the award and appreciated the work by OEC volunteers on publication of the 3rd edition of Educure.

On day 2, representatives of AKRSP from Geneva and Canada took were also present. Awards were distributed among successful recipients of YCMA. Educure won the best YMCA Winner Award which was received by Imran Hunzai.

Educure was made available on a stall where participants were facilitated with subscription of future editions of Educure.
