“No To Suicide, Love Life” An Action To Reduce Suicidal Incidences Hunza, Gilgit Baltistan, A Group Effort of Young Social Change Agents From Hunza Life is a heavenly blessing of nature; youth must be informed about its significance and value. The main objective of “NO TO # SUICIDE ” social action holds the goal of drawing attention and encourages young people to live, Zar Nigar Tojik a social activist belongs to # Gojal , Hunza Gilgit expressed these sentiments about NO TO SUICIDE whilst communicating to press. She added that, “The project aims to prevent the suicidal actions starting from Gilgit Baltistan and across Pakistan. It would help; celebrate achievements of risk deduction of developmental hazards with global gathering, although this is a prime responsibility of the present Government. However, we as a group of responsible citizens and social change agents are initiating “NO TO SUICIDE, LOVE LIFE” movement, under the progression of this project following Eid-ul-Adha, in the villages and connecting areas of Hunza, a number of sessions are going to commence about the Life as a heavenly blessing and encourage youth to avoid such suicidal incidences. No to Suicide (NTS) is a youth platform initiated in Karachi, and recently planned an event on the pressing issue faced by the people of Gojal especially the young people. NTS is striving for meaningful participation & empowerment of youth through working on crisis management, selfesteem enhancement, development of social skills and healthy decision making. No to Suicide (NTS) in collaboration with Student Association of Moorkhun-SAM and federating units of GISAK and Jamati Institutions in Gojal, to organize “NTS-Youth Sessions on Suicide Prevention Across Gojal”,from “13th – 19th July 2016” in Gojal(Upper Hunza) aware to reduce suicide tendencies in youth. The overall theme of the event is “Gojal vows to Prevent Suicide”, while the seven days of the event will be focusing on:“Youth Role in Decision-making processes and Suicide Prevention amongst youth of GB”. A total of 650 young people from all over Gojal will be taking part in the events. The objectives of the event are to i) Engage the youth of Gojal in a dialogue with young leaders to discuss their challenges & opportunities and advocate for their meaningful role in decision-making processes, ii) Suicide prevention amongst youth of GB& iii) Celebrate the achievements of the youth.
