GURNEY Paragon Mall treated personnel from local print, broadcast and online media to a pre-Chinese New Year celebration in acknowledgement of their longstanding support.

Company staff members were out in full force to mingle with the special guests as they enjoyed a sumptuous eight-course banquet at Jade Palace restaurant located on the mall’s 4th floor.

There were raucous Yee Sang tossing sessions and cheers of ‘yam seng’ as all raised a toast to continued cooperation, prosperity and auspiciousness for the impending Year of the Monkey.

Hunza Group managing director Khor Siang Gin said it was the first Media Appreciation Night they have hosted, and a timely one to recognise their contribution in helping publicise the mall and parent company’s latest happenings.

“I would like to thank all of you for your commitment and efforts in the coverage of our company’s role and achievements as a catalyst for the country’s property and retail industries.

“This has not only helped our business grow, but also spurred the growth of communities around us,” he said at the recent dinner.

Hunza Group founder-cum-advisor Datuk Seri Khor Teng Tong also noted: “The dissemination of information is far reaching, and the influence it has is massive.

“The flourishing media industry is good for the country as it serves the community in providing professional, credible and accurate information to readers.”

Later, the company’s executive director Khor Tze Ming joinedseveral pressmen on stage for a karaoke session, earning applause for their melodious renditions.

Siang Gin also highlighted some of Hunza’s upcoming projects like the Alila2 luxury condominiums in Tanjung Bungah, landed properties in Bertam, and a mixed development project in Juru.

He also teased about an integrated development in Bayan Baru, which could consist of medicalcentres, hotels and a sprawling shopping mall.

“As for the shopping mall, we have exciting events lined up, like the second edition of the Penang Fashion Week in April, our Mid Yearly school holiday campaign, and 3rd Anniversary celebration,” he added.
