ISLAMABAD:Work on 26 MW hydropower project in Skardu to begin in April

The government is undertaking a number of hydro power projects under Public Sector Development Programme to overcome energy crisis in Gilgit-Baltistan.Talking to Radio Pakistan, a spokesman of power department Gilgit said that work on 26 megawatt hydropower project at Shagerting in Skardu will begin next month.He said the project costing 4.8 billion rupees will be completed by 2018.The spokesman said the project will be funded by Asian Development Bank.
