Zahiruddin Ajiz (President Chitral Press Club) was the Chief Guest at the launching ceremony and Magfirat Shah former District Nazim Chitral presided the session. Numerous youth and media representatives participated in the launching ceremony. Addressing to the participants District Youth Focal Person Mr. Noor Alam Khan said that the purpose of initiating youth magazine is to provide immense and courageous coverage to the youth and enhance youth participation in media. He said Spark Plug is a dual language (English and Urdu) quarterly magazine which covers different youth related issues, articles, success stories of youth, interviews, youths’ poetry, information etc. Through this magazine youth can voice for their and society’s concerns. Secondly this magazine will ignite the energies of youth by providing the opportunity to write, read and connect through exchange of views and opinions. He invited the young writers to write for the magazine. He also asked the participants to provide their feedback to improve future issues of the magazine. He also highlighted that the magazine idea became possible after winning the youth innovative ideas competition conducted by AKRSP under Youth Micro Challenge Award 2013. Mr. Atta ur Rehman Member District Youth Forum gave a detailed presentation on the magazine idea and development process. He also answered the question of the participants regarding magazine. Speaking on the ceremony, Zahiruddin Ajiz said that this magazine will be milestone to enrich the writing capabilities of the youth of Chitral. Spark Plug will be the most suitable platform which can truly represent the youth segment. He asked District Youth Forum to regularly publish the magazine and he also offered his voluntary technical services to assist District Youth Forum Chitral in future issues of the magazine. The chief guest also handed over the award to Nisar Ahmad- A youth who suggested the name Spark Plug for the magazine in response of the “Name Youth Magazine Call”of District Youth Forum Chitral. During the session Mr. Magafirat Shah, Farid Ahmad Raza, Hidayatullah and Zuhoorul Haq Danish also addressed the participants. They appreciated the magazine initiative of District Youth Forum and offered their support to make successful the initiative. At the end Qazi Faisal thanked the participants on behalf of DYFC to join the celebration ceremony. . Spark Plug is a part of Youth Media of District Youth Forum Chitral. Youth Media consists of Youth Cable TV thematic programs, Youth Portal and Magazine in Chitral under DYFC.
