Supreme Court two-member bench headed by Justice Anwar Zahir Jamali was hearing the Employees Old-age Benefit Institution (EOBI) appointments case

The court order said that the appointments on the vacant posts be made in accordance with the rules and regulations and provincial quota. EOBI chairman will be responsible for the appointments in the institution.

While National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has been ordered to conduct an inquiry into the appointment of Raja Azeemul Huq, son-in-law of the former prime minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf.

It may be recalled that ex-PM Raja Pervaiz Ashraf had appointed his son-in-law Raja Azeemul Haq to the prestigious post of Executive Director (ED) of the World Bank in Washington.

While a fact-finding committee earlier had declared the appointments made by former Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf in grade 16 to 20 in EOBI non-transparent and the worst example of nepotism.
