PM Nawaz pays tribute to soldiers and IDPs as nation celebrates Eidul Fitr

ISLAMABAD: As the nation celebrated Eidul Fitr with religious fervour on Tuesday, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif paid tribute to the Pakistan Army soldiers fighting against terrorists in North Waziristan and internally displaced persons (IDP).

Big Eid congregations were held across the country amid tight security. Army Chief General Raheel Sharif also arrived in North Waziristan to celebrate Eid with his soldiers.

In his Eid message, President Mamnoon Hussain urged the nation to share the joys of Eid with the underprivileged sections of society and the IDPs. His whife, Begum Mehmooda, also called upon the women of the country to celebrate Eid with simplicity and express solidarity with the displaced families.

National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and Deputy Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi extended warm greetings to the parliamentarians and fellow countrymen.
