Met Office forecast light rain for Upper KP

PESHAWAR(APP): The Met Office here Wednesday predicted light rain with snowfall over the hills at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara and Peshawar divisions during next 24 hours that would hopefully decrease existing temperature further.According to Met Office here, a shallow westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and another fresh westerly wave is also expected to approach upper parts of the country on Friday. Mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, partly cloudy to cloudy weather conditions in upper parts of the country with light rain (snow over the hills) are expected at isolated places in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar and Islamabad/Rawalpindi divisions.
Tourists destinations like Nathia Gali, Ayubia, Donga Gali in Abbottabad district, Malam Jaba and Kalam valleys in Swat and Chitral are likely to receive rain with snowfall over the hills during the said period.
In next 48 hours, partly cloudy to cloudy weather conditions are expected to prevail in upper parts of the country, however, light rain with light snow over the hills is predicted at isolated places in Islamabad, upper Punjab’s Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha divisions, upper KP’s Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. However cold and dry weather is expected in other parts of the country.
Weather remained cold and dry in most parts of the country. However, light rain occurred at one or two places in Malakand division and Parachinar Kurram Agency in last 24 hours. Parachinar has received maximum 3milimeter rain followed by Kalam 1mm respectively.  Minimum temperature was recorded at Skardu -6 C followed by Hunza -5 C, Gupis, Gilgit, Kalat and Quetta -4 C whereas pollen count yesterday remained as 37 per m3 of air.
