Light rain, snowfall forecast for Upper KP, Kashmir, GB: Met Office

PESHAWAR(APP): The Met Office forecast light rain with snowfall over the hills on Friday evening/night at
isolated places in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan (GB) during next 24 hours that would
hopefully decrease an existing temperature.According to Met Office here, a shallow westerly wave is affecting upper
parts of the country and is likely to persist during next 24 hours. As result, partly cloudy conditions with light rain and
snow over the hills are expected on Friday evening/night at isolated places in Malakand, Hazara, Rawalpindi,
Gujranwala, Lahore divisions, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during next 24 hours, however, the weather would mainly dry
and cold in most parts of the country. Tourists destinations like Nathiagali, Ayubia, Malam Jabba and Kalam are likely to
receive rain and snowfall over the hills.
In next 48 hours, mainly cold
and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, however, light
rain and snow over the hills is expected at one or two places in
Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
The weather remained cold and dry in
most parts of the country in last 24 hours, however, drizzle occurred at
one or two places in Gujranwala and Rawalpindi divisions. The maximum
rain was received by Sialkot, Gujrat, Jhelum and Mangla Trace whereas
minimum temperature was recorded at Astore -9 C, Kalam, Skardu -7 C,
Kalat, Gupis -6 C, Hunza -5 C, Gilgit and Quetta -4 C respectively while
pollen count today remained as 28 per m3 of air.
