ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairperson Imran Khan will not formally be a part of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) peace talks, the party’s core committee decided on Monday, Express News reported.

However, Rustam Shah Mohmand will represent PTI in the talks.
Though Imran Khan won’t be a part of the talks, it was announced that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government will provide full cooperation in carrying out the talks peacefully.
Earlier, the TTP had proposed names of senior political and religious leaders for a committee to converse with the government’s dialogue committee on its behalf.
The list included PTI chief Imran Khan’s name as well.
After the announcement of the names, PTI distanced itself from the talks and Imran said that the TTP should select their own representatives for talks. He reiterated his faith in the four-member committee announced by the government few days ago.
JUI-F backs out
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) will not be part of negotiations with the TTP, said JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Monday.
JUI-F will support the government’s effort to establish peace, and if the government wants the party’s cooperation they will cooperate depending on the need and the situation, he said in his press conference.
