HUNZANEWS:Afridi out as Pakistan bat first in fifth ODI

ABU DHABI: Pakistan captain Misbah-ul Haq won the toss and opted to bat in the fifth and final one-day international against Sri Lanka in Abu Dhabi on Friday.

 

Pakistan, who have an unbeatable 3-1 lead, were forced to make two changes from the line-up which won the fourth match by eight wickets on Wednesday, bringing in Anwar Ali and spinner Abdul Rehman.

They replaced Shahid Afridi, who returned home to be with his ill daughter, and paceman Bilawal Bhatti.

Sri Lanka made one change from the last match, bringing in spinner Anjantha Mendis for paceman Nuwan Kulasekara.

Pakistan won the first match by 11 runs and third by 113 runs — both in Sharjah — while Sri Lanka won the second in Dubai by two wickets.
