MELBOURNE: England were dismissed for 179 to leave Australia 231 runs to win the fourth Ashes Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Saturday.

Alastair Cook top scored with 51, followed closely by Kevin Pietersen on 49 and spinner Nathan Lyon captured five wickets for 50.

In a stunning collapse England lost their last five wickets for six runs and were bowled out in 61 overs to open the door for the Australians to win the Test and take a 4-0 lead in the five-Test series.

There are still two days left to get a result and the weather forecast is generally fine.

Mitchell Johnson finished with three for 25 and now has 31 wickets in the series. (AFP)
