Govt committee to seek explanation before resuming talks

ISLAMABAD: Following Monday brutal killings of the 23 FC personnel by the defunct Tehrik-e-Taliban Mohmand Agency, the talks between the Taliban and government committees scheduled today has gone into disarray and may not be held today, Geo News reported.

Sources said that the government committee soon after the tragic news of Taliban beheading the kidnapped FC men went into session mulling over the emanating situation and the government committee was expected to release a statement any time.

Sources said that the Taliban committee would be asked to explain their position over these inhuman killing of FC men.

In a statement sent to media outlets, the Mohmand Agency Taliban chief Umar Khalid Khurasani said that they killed the FC soldiers on February 16 to avenge what he said was the custodial killing of Taliban fighter in various areas of Pakistan.
