Srinagar, HunzaNews Jan 22: Directly holding India responsible for terrorist attacks in Pakistan, the conglomerate of militant outfits United Jihad Council chief Syed Salahuddin Wednesday said that the merger of Gilgit Baltistan with Pakistan will put an end to Kashmir freedom struggle against India.

As per a statement issued, Syed Salahuddin while addressing a press conference said that Pakistan is advocating the Kashmir Cause and it should either support the people of Kashmir or should shake hands with its enemy country India. “Friendship with India and advocating Kashmir Cause can’t go hand in hand and Pakistan should choose one between the two,” he said.

He said that there is not an iota of doubt in this fact that India is directly involved in terrorist activities in Pakistan. “Pakistan should openly criticize India for spreading terror in Pakistan as well as in Kashmir. It is the prime duty of Pakistan to give weightage to Kashmir issue and only after that talk business with India. In the garb of dialogue mantra India is strengthening its occupation in Kashmir and Pakistan must understand this,” Salahuddin said.

He said that Kashmir Freedom Struggle will cease and India will claim its writ on Kashmir if Pakistan merges Gilgat Baltistan. If Pakistan will do so, the UN resolutions regarding Kashmir will become ineffective. Instead of merging Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan should improve the political, social and economic conditions in the province,” he said.

Syed Salahuddin said that it was the Highway Squad of Hizb that attacked Pathankot Airbase. “We didn’t harm any civilian as our target was only Indian armed forces. Our fight is with Indian Army and Mujhadeen have guts to strike anywhere in India. Pakistan should not take such initiatives that could discourage the Mujhdeen and the people of Kashmir,” Salahuddin said in an apparent reference to the arrest of JeM activists.

United Jihad Council Chief said that it is irony that without probing the Pathankot incident and before the probe committee started probing the incident, Pakistan government started a crackdown on Mujhadeen. “India has been unleashing terror in Kashmir. Lakhs of Kashmiri people have been killed. Pakistan is talking about business and friendship with India and in these circumstances, the Pakistani leadership should make it clear whether they are with people of Kashmir or India,” he said.

He reiterated that Mujhadeen will continue to fight against Indian occupation till the last drop of their blood.

Meanwhile, UJC chief has appealed people to observe January 26 (India’s Republic Day) as black day and observe a complete shutdown to make it clear to international community that Kashmiri people don’t accept the occupation of India. (CNS)
