The Gojal Educational and Cultural Association (GECA)‚ a Islamabad based Association of Gojal’s ‚ organized a two days blissful cultural show here in Rawalpindi Arts Auditorium on weekend.

Day 1(Saturday, Jan 18): Folk Music, Cultural dance‚ features and other cultural items were staged on the occasion which mesmerized the audience. The Program started with famous Wakhi folk song “ Shomuborakbod”, presented by Haider Murad followed by another celebrated song “Amber-e- Pomir” of Fazal Ur Rehman Shirin Seedo. Doulat Wali Baig, Riaz Ahmed Sahar, Ahmed Aziz, Faiz Rahim Posh, Saif Ud Din Roomi and other Wakhi and Brushaski artists enthralled the audience.
Speaking on the occasion a well-known social activist & businessman Muhammad Raziq appreciated the efforts of GECA & urged for up-holding of the unique and rich culture of Gojal Hunza.
Mr. Sultan Mehmood President Council for Rawalpindi/Islamabad shared message of MHI to the Jamat & urged the youth in particular to follow the guidance of MHI and utilize their precious time for seeking better education with excellence.
Students danced to the tune of dadang (drum) damal (percussion) and gabbi (flute) played by the Hayashoo Band.
Day 2(Sunday, 19)final Day of the Event: The program started with traditional way of welcome Khusomaded, followed by a welcome notes by Chairman GECA Baig Ali. He has also announced special scholarship and grants for the needy and deserving students of the region.
Traditional folk music and skits depicting changing lifestyle and values of Wakhi people were presented by young artists and applauded by the audience. The professional and students from across the region participated in the event residing in the twin cities.
Prominent Wakhi Singer Doulat Wali Baig released his 4th audio album in Wakhi language titled “ Margich Safar”.
A talk show was also presented with the theme “Dialogue with Women Leaders “, Mrs. Nabat Karim (Head Education – UNICEF), Mrs. Nusrat Nasab (CEO – Focus Pakistan ) & Mrs. Yasmin Farman Ali ( Director – Federal Colleges) shared their life journey & thought for future.
Speaking on the occasion a renowned social worker & Businessman Nazim Ul Amin a businessman shared his views on cultural diversity Gojal-Hunza and admired the role of GECA for organizing such events to keep culture alive. He urged the youth to follow the foot steps of the elders, be disciplined, humble & role model for not only to the youth of Central Hunza but to the youth of Gilgit Baltistan.
Amin announced a cash prize of PKR 50,000 to be awarded for outstanding contribution or achievement in any field of life every year. He also announced PKR 25,000 per annum educational support fund in the memory of Master Shahdat Khan. Admired
Mrs. Nabat Karim valued the efforts of GECA for the preservation of culture and helping youth in the filed of education. She offered her professional services for the development of mechanism for educational support & urged the youth to study with hard work and dedication.
The program concluded with a joyful dance segment.
