Female student, father fall into river

CHITRAL: A man and his daughter died after falling into a river near Drasun village of Mulkhow valley in upper Chitral.
Local people said Shahab Uddin, a Jamaat-e-Islami worker and resident of Kushum, was taking his daughter to take part in the Wafaqul Madaris exam in Drasun. They were crossing a naroow and dilapidated pedestrian bridge over the river near Drasun when they slipped and fell into the water. Local people later recovered the bodies.
The funeral of the student and her father was attended by a large number of people, including Jamaat-e-Islami Chitral chief Maulana Jamshed Ahmed.—Bashir Hussain Azad
