Decided to step down over the ‘voice of conscience’: Warsi

LONDON: The British politician of Pakistani origin, Sayeeda Warsi, who had resigned as UK minister over Gaza policy, said here Wednesday that she decided to step down over the ‘voice of conscience’.

Speaking exclusively to Geo News here, Warsi said Britain was providing weapons to the country that was involved in the killing of children.

She stressed to develop a strategy for rehabilitation in Gaza.

Warsi had been appointed to a foreign office post in 2012 and was also the minister for faith and communities.

She had previously been the chairperson of the Conservative Party and was appointed as the first female Muslim cabinet member in 2010.
