Barjees orders judicial inquiry into Baloch incident

Islamabad—Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Chaudhry Muhammad Barjees Tahir Tuesday said he had ordered a judicial inquiry into the killing of a person during a rally in Baloch Town of AJK against alleged rigging in by-election.
The Secretary Kashmir Affairs had already been issued directives in this regard, said the minister addressing a press conference here.
He said those responsible would be brought to justice and stern action would be taken against them.
He said polling in LA-22 was held in a free, fair and transparent manner, and peacefulenvironment. But the workers of Pakistan People’s Party AJK brought out a rally in Baloch Town after losing the election and scuffled with the administration. A person was seriously injured, who later died.
Barjees alleged that the PPP activists also attacked a police station. He said winning and losing election was part of politics and after the announcement of results, the losing candidatescongratulated the winners.—APP
