Govt chalks out strategy to detain Qadri: Raheeq

LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) President Raheeq Abbasi has expressed concerns that the government had chalked a plan to detain Tahirul Qadri and it could conduct raid at Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran (TMQ) secretariat at anytime today (Sunday), Geo News reported.

Speaking to media outside Minhajul Quran secretariat, Raheeq Abbasi claimed that they had come to know through reliable sources that special commandos would be dropped via copter at the residence of Qadri for his arrest. He warned that it could bring bad consequences.

 He said government wanted to take control of the secretariat, adding that if the situation went worse, PM Nawaz Sharif and Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif would be responsible for it.

 Raheeq vowed to adopt every possible measure to protect Tahirul Qadri.
