HUNZANEWS:-Pakistan Embassy in Beijing to facilitate Chinese investors for investments in Pakistan.

BEIJING, HUNZANEWS : Pakistan Embassy will provide all-out help, encouragement and facilitation to the Chinese investors intending to make investments in diverse areas of Pakistan’s economy, Ambassador Masood Khalid has said.

imagesThe Ambassador was talking to senior chief executive officers of different Chinese entities already working in Pakistan as well as the potential investors from energy, infrastructure, and communications sectors, in Pakistan. It may be mentioned here that during Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif’s visit to China in July, both sides had signed eight cooperative agreements and MoUs to further enhance economic cooperation. Ambassador Khalid held separate meetings with Chinese firms at the 2-day, 5th China Overseas Investment Fair which began here Tuesday.

Pakistan’s flag carrier PIA, prominent software firm, NETSOL and businessmen dealing in import of rice, spices and other food items had also setup their counters at the Pakistan’s pavilion at the exhibition inaugurated earlier by Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang.

Ambassador Khalid interacted with senior officers of Zhen Hua Oil, presently working on a project to explore gas in Daska and Bahawalpur in Punjab province.

Talking with a Tianjin based company working in Malaysia and having vast experience in coal exploration; the Ambassador briefed the chief executive officer about the massive coal reserves in Thar and invited him to visit Pakistan Embassy so that more details for investment could be discussed.

Talking to the print and electronic media present on the occasion, Ambassador Khalid pointed out that being close neighbor, Pakistan and China have many complementarities, especially in the field of economy.

He said that the Pakistan China Economic Corridor, a mega project will prove to be a catalyst in regional connectivity ultimately benefitting people from all segments of the society.

Pakistan offered low-cost, fairly trained work force, Ambassador said, adding that over 100 projects on which a number of prominent Chinese firms were working and already getting benefit from the young labour force.

He pointed out that over 13000 Chinese are at present engaged in various development projects in Pakistan.

To a question, Ambassador Khalid said that there was a vast potential for investment for Chinese in energy, infrastructure, coal and mineral exploration, telecommunications, laying a network of roads and railways.
