7.7 magnitude earthquake strikes Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: An earthquake has rocked the northern areas, including the capital city, DawnNews reported.

Reuters reported a 7.7 magnitude quake in Pakistan’s northern areas citing United States Geological Survey.

It is unclear how severe the quake was, but citizens took to social media to post reports of a “massive quake”.

Tremors have been felt in major cities, including Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Kohat and Malakand.

Strong tremors were also felt in Kabul and New Delhi.

In pictures shared by Islamabad residents on Twitter, people are seen standing on roads after feeling tremors.
